Stayed at a friend’s house last night, it was fun for the most part (despite not having internet). I got the ride there and picked up and brought back to my area once my friend had to go to work. Thankfully the person giving me rides is feeding me today. I hate not having a job, or any way of legally driving myself.
I hate the Texas surcharges, they’re a huge reason I’m in this mess. -_-
Read how screwed up this thing is:
Basically, if you’re convicted of driving without insurance (which is expensive when you’re job hunting), you not only have to pay the ticket, but the state of Texas charges you a surcharge fee later on of $260 for 3 years. I have 3 of these surcharges. So, do the math. OH, and if you don’t pay these surcharges in at least a monthly payment of $40 (which for an unemployed person is not easy to get a hold of), your license is suspended, and you have to pay $125 to reinstate it…on top of THAT, it takes up to 30 days to reinstate! No wonder it’s so freaking hard for me to find employment at even the easiest places.
